Full Coverage of Asian Film Awards (2014) The Asian Film Awards Academy is the organizer of the annual event, with the combined backing of three major film festivals: The Hong Kong International Film Festival Society, the Busan International Film Festival, and the Tokyo International Film Festival. Previously, the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society had been the sole organizer of the awards. The awards, first presented in 2007, is to recognize the excellence of the film professionals in the film industries of Asian cinema.
